Gender Equality in a male-dominated sector

Tasmania was committed to delivering the organisation’s first Gender Equality
Strategy, and sought support to make it simple, authentic and achievable within
a highly large and complex setting.
What we did:
We worked with Hydro Tasmania to bring together the breadth of initiatives and information that they had already invested in, in the pursuit of gender equality, into a coherent set of priorities and actions.
- Analysed existing internal and external data and emerging gender equality trends and best-practice activity
- Contextualised all information into a translational strategy that could be operationalised at all levels of the organisation
- Supported development of a gender equality strategy artefact for the business
- Developed an approach to implementation, inclusive of systems, rhythms and rituals to track and monitor progress
The result:
In January 2024, the organisation launched its first gender equality strategy and made visible its progress. The team successfully embedded an org-wide approach that was data-driven, ambitious and had a roadmap to implementation.
