Managing through complexity
Our client operates in a particularly challenging and complex space within the health sector and is committed to the continued development of their people. They got in touch, seeking support to deliver elements of their in-service program to address specific challenges identified by staff.
What we did:
After understanding the challenges, we developed a four-session program building on existing skills and knowledge that presented contemporary evidence and encouraged self-reflection and implementation between sessions. This included:
- Understood key challenges and grouped them into four sequential topics to build participants’ self-awareness and understanding
- Presented a flexible program that incorporated in-person and online learning, ensuring participation was possible from across the State
- Provided a final set of resources that were participant-built, for their future reference
The result:
The program evolved to include participation from a number of leaders from across the State, providing the opportunity to learn, reflect and grow together – something that continued well after we concluded our part.
At the end of the sessions, we ran an impact survey with the following results:
- 83% Agree or Strongly Agree that the things they learnt were useful
- 83% Agree or Strongly Agree that the presenters were knowledgeable
- 75% Agree or Strongly Agree that they intend to adjust the way that they manage themselves
- 75% Agree or Strongly Agree that they intend to adjust the way they manage their team
